The Spring and Summer Vegetable Garden

Just about all the spring and summer vegetables have been planted and most are doing real well.  The okra is about a 3 feet tall, and the onions have been pulled. Snap beans may produce a few more but they are just about finished.  Cucumbers are starting to produce real well.  Tomatoes are looking good and I'm picking anywhere from 20 - 80 lbs. a day.  Cantaloupe are producing like crazy. Bell peppers are also starting to produce and doing very well.  Planted the summer tomatoes.  Fall tomatoes have been started in the Jiffy Pots.

Sweet corn tip  Corn is usually harvested 21-24 days after the appearance of the silk on the end of the ears.

Sweet corn tip  When planting corn it's recommended that you plant at least 4 rows next to each other.  This greatly improves the pollination which will produce fuller ears.
